Error Message – "Corrupted File" – What Does This Mean?

Have you ever seen an error message like this and immediately broke out in a cold sweat? What does it mean? Is there any solution? The answer, in all probability, is YES.

When you see the word “corrupted” in some of the definitions of the error messages you may encounter on your computer, you should know that corruption can occur for many reasons such as:

You computer may have been corrupted by a virus. It could have been corrupted as the result of a buggy program or software driver you’ve installed. You may have a bad power supply or motherboard in your computer. Memory could have gone bad as well. If you don’t have a good surge protector, electrical surges can result in corrupted drives or files.

The reason you should realize this is because if you send your corrupted hard drive to a data recovery service, you might think that, when you have your recovered data back, your problems are over. But, if your drive was corrupted because of a bad component in your computer, you may find that when you get your system up and running again, your data is corrupted once more. (Note: Just because your drive was corrupted does not, necessarily, mean that your computer has a bad component.) Your computer may have been corrupted by damage caused by flood, water or vandalism.. It might have been corrupted by fire, heat or smoke. The corruption could even have been the result of sabotage.

Also, data can become corrupted due to over-clocking your computer. Computers that are over-clocked may not demonstrate any symptoms other than sometimes when you try to print a document, it does not print correctly.

If you notice your computer running slower, this could signal that your hard drive is corrupted and is beginning to fail. Sometimes, when the hard drive begins to fail, it can develop bad sectors which slows performance. If you notice that your hard drive is operating slower than usual, run a diagnostic program that checks the hard drive for bad sectors. If you repeat the diagnostic check frequently, you may notice more bad sectors appearing each time. This is an indication that your drive is starting to fail quickly and should be replaced as soon as possible.

A slower running computer can mean that you need to defragment your hard drive as well. Often defragmenting your hard drive can speed up your computer. Or, you may have too many programs running at start up and slowing your computer down. The solution, in this case, is to disable some of the programs. Slow downs can be the result of an installed software program that has a bug as well.

Of course, the best possible protection against data loss due to files or drives being corrupted, is to develop the habit of backing up your data on a routine basis. We suggest a total backup at least once per week. Then, backup new or changed data at more frequent intervals such as daily.

But wait! Don’t panic yet. The good news is that help is probably at hand. The demand and urgency to recover data has resulted in a plethora of data recovery software on the market that can rescue you from a crisis situation.

If the hard disk is working properly, professional service is probably unnecessary. As long as the hard disk is not making any strange noise like scratching, scraping or ticking, data recovery can usually be accomplished by using data recovery software.

Cathe Friedrich’s STS disc #17 Meso #2 Week #2

Order or learn more about STS at www.cathe.com Why STS is Different from Any Other Workout DVD? What really makes STS better and different from any other home exercise program are four things: First, STS uses what is known as a one rep max (1RM) test to make sure that everyone using the STS program uses a weight that is just right for their fitness levels. A 1RM test is simply a test where you find the maximum weight you can lift for every exercise. More details about your 1RM are provided in this booklet on page 8, but for now you should know that for every exercise in STS you will be told exactly what percentage of your 1RM you should use to make sure that you always use the correct weight for every exercise. This will help you to not only train safely, but also to maximize your results. Though you dont have to take a 1RM test to do the STS program, your results will never be as good as the results of someone who does. Second, STS is the most comprehensive workout DVD series on the market today giving you a different STS workout for each scheduled weight training day. This is important because, as mentioned earlier, by constantly changing the workouts, the benefits of the muscle confusion principle are maximized. This also helps to reduce mental fatigue and increases your probability of success with the program. Third, STS is a complete three-month workout program based on periodization in which the intensity of the exercise gradually increases over the length of the
